ISSUE #6: WINTER

This is the wonderful new poster for our sixth issue, 'WINTER'
, by the fabulous Scarlett Mellows. If you're interested in contributing to our forthcoming edition, here are some things to keep in mind:

  1. The issue is themed 'Winter'; therefore, all entries must have something to do with that theme. It can be anything to do with winter- a recipe for a hot drink to keep you warm, a poem about that nice feeling you get when you're inside and listening to the rain, or a picture of a friend jumping in puddle. Don't limit yourself to similar ideas to ours though- be creative!
  2. Along with your submission, please send us a postal address so we can send a (free!) copy of the zine, along with your published work.
  3. Also, make sure you tell us how you want to sign your work- with your full name, a pseudonym, a tag, a small picture of a mouse, just make sure you tell us how to let others know that it's your work : )
  4. All submissions will be printed on A5 black-and-white pages, so if you're submitting an image it doesn't hurt to think about its going to look in black-and-white.
  5. Unfortunately, there's not always a guarantee that your all your work will make it into the final product, especially if you submit multiple entries- however, don't get disheartened, we encourage you to try again next edition : )
Much love,

Everyone at Just To Annoy You.

Welcome

Hello and welcome!

We run a handmade zine called Just To Annoy You in Melbourne, Australia.

The zine was started in January 2008 by Amy and Alexandra, though Alex is no longer a regular contributor (she still sends her work in from time to time). Amy was soon joined by Scarlett, Clayton and Tim, who form the current editing and creative team. We are currently up to our 6th issue, based on the theme 'WINTER'.

Our zine is an anonymous collaboration of art, with submissions from people of all walks of life; teens in high school, people with ordinary day jobs, and both emerging and established local artists. Just because you aren’t a professional drawer or graphic designer does not mean you can’t contribute. We encourage people to express themselves and use this opportunity to submit something to us : )

We plan to use this blog to keep you informed about new issues of our zine, upcoming art shows, information on where you can find more from our contributing artists, and other associated projects : )

Much love,

From everyone at Just To Annoy You.
